From Story County Watchman December 21, 1883

DIED.--December 11th, 1863, Roy Arlington, son of C. and E. Furnace, age six years on month and eleven days.

Little Roy was a bright affectionate little boy, and loved by all who knew him.

Sweet Roy!
"He glanced into the world, to see
A sample of our misery;
Then turned away his languid eye
To drop a tear or two and die.

Sweet Roy!
He tasted of life's bitter cup,
Refused to drink the portion up;
But turned his little head aside
Disgusted with the taste, and died.

Sweet Roy, no-more but seraph now;
Before the throne behold him bow;
To heavenly joys his spirit flies,
Blessed in the triumphs of the skies;
Adores the grace that brought him there.

Without a wish, without a care,
That washed his soul in calvaries stream,
That shortened life's distressing dream."

A. K. BONE.

The funeral services were conducted at the residence of Mr. F. in Richland township, and one of the largest gatherings that has assembled in that locality. The remains were quietly laid away in the cemetery at Nevada on the 12th inst.
