Mr. James M. Nowning died at his home near Iowa Centre, September 15th, 1883, aged 41 years 4 months and 13 days.

Mr. Nowning was a man who commanded the respect of all who knew him. He was a peaceable neighbor, a devoted husband, a kind father, and a faithful christian. Funeral by Rev. S. Skogsburg, Iowa Centre.
