From Story County Watchman September 8, 1882

KILLED.--On Friday afternoon Mr. Q. A. Boynton, while engaged in work on the building corner 6th and Linn streets, was struck upon the head by one of the joists, which was being placed in postition, and so injured that he died in a few hours. He had just commenced work for the afternoon, and the suddenness of his taking off cast a pall upon all for the time. He has been a resident of this place for years, and been mail and express messenger the most of the time for the past ten years, and as such is known to all in this section. His age was 40 years, and he leaves a wife, children, parents and relatives to bear the loss. Quinn was a jovial, whole souled gentleman and will be greatly missed by all those who were intimate with him and there are none but will extend the hand of sympathy to the bereaved ones.
