From Story County Watchman March 10, 1882

DIED.--At his residence in Nevada township, Wednesday, March 8th, '82, Smith Goodin, aged 50 years.

This result of a long and protracted illness was not unlooked for by the friends of the deceased. He had been ailing for a long time with a complication of dropsy and general debility and has been an intense sufferer. All with whom he was acquainted will ever remember him as a genial, social good fellow, and sadly regret his fate. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss.
