From Story County Watchman March 31, 1882

Miss Clara Gross died of consumption one week ago last Saturday and was buried one week ago last Tuesday. The funeral was preached by Rev. Hahn. This was the fourth and last child that Mr. C. W. Gross has laid in the grave during this season. Clara was a lovely daughter but sixteen years of age. This has been a sad blow for Mr. Gross who has the true sympathy of all his neighbors. Mr. John Gross, sr. former resident of this place but now of Pipe Stone Minn. came down to attend the funeral and is making a short visit with friends.
