Stanley Bruce, 91, of Ames, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Stan was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Carman, Manitoba, Canada, to Charles and Alice Bruce. He married Ruth Fisher March 2, 1946, in Carman.

He worked for the city of Ames until retirement in 1984.

He was a charter member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club and a charter member of the Kueens and Kings Hi-Lo Camping Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bruce, of Ames; three children, Glenn (Carolyn) Bruce and Bob (Nancy) Bruce, all of Huxley, and Arlene Larson, of Ames; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother, Ellen Galbraith, Alice Andrews and Andrew Bruce, all of Manitoba.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel; and brother, Jim.
