From Story County Watchman October 21, 1881

DIED.--Of Pseudo-Membranous (Diphtheritic) Inflamation, Oct. 18th, 1881, Ella Zelein, daughter of H. L. and Lizzie M. Swafford, aged two years and seven days.

Thanks to the family are extended to neighbors and friends for assistance and kindness, during this sad bereavement.

Rest in peace our own sweet Darling;
All thy sufferings now are o'er,
'twas thy Father called the homeward
O'er that bright and golden shore.

Rest in peace our darling, rest thee,
Though we miss thee in our home,
In hope we live, one day to meet thee,
Ever more with thee to roam.

We daily miss thy little footsteps,
Lightly bounding on our ear,
But thy prattle and thy love steps
Will be heard on earth no more.

Yet we know 'twas God that called thee
To his realms of love above.
Crowned thee with the golden blessing
Of his own undying love.

Heavenly Father, may we meet her,
Among they holy angel band
Let us join, let us greet her,
In thy bright and happy land.

Rest the darling now we leave thee,
We lay thy dust beneath the sod
But our hearts will ne'er forget thee,
Though thy spirits with its God.
