THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 2, 2010.

W. Michael (Mike) Biery, 68, of Castle Rock, Colo., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Memorial services will be in Evergreen, Colo., and Oregon City, Ore., in December.

Mike was born May 16, 1942, in Ames, the son of Catherine P. (Biery) Ellis and William Russell Biery, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Ames High School in 1960 and Westmar College in Le Mars in 1964. In 1963, he married Linda Osborne.

He was a resident of the Denver, Colo., area from 1965 to 1995; Oregon City, Ore., from 1995 to 2008; and Castle Rock, Colo., from 2008 until his death. He worked as a human resources executive and consultant.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Biery, of Castle Rock, Colo.; one daughter, Tonia Biery, of Portland, Ore.; one son, Timothy Biery (Jennilyn) and two granddaughters, Lydia and Carriann, of Castle Rock, Colo.; one uncle, Kenneth Davis, of Ames; and three cousins, Peggy Toppenberg, of Sterling, Alaska, Steve Davis, of Chicago, and Betsy Nolan, of Fort Collins, Colo.
