IN MEMORIAM.--Elvah A. Carpenter, wife of James T. Carpenter, died May 12th, 1880, aged 30 years, one month and 24 days.

She was the daughter of Calvin and B. Foster. She leaves a husband and one son aged seven years. She was a kind, dutiful and loving daughter, an a true wife and mother; quiet and retiring in her manners, never desiring to be other than her own trueself. She will be deeply mourned by her friends.

We as a family wish to return our thanks with sincere gratitude to our friends and neighbors for their kindness to us in our deep affliction, and especially to Doctors Boggess and Scott, and to the choir.
