Norilo Gillespie, father of J. F. Gillespie, died at his home in Marshalltown last week (Thursday,) and the funeral took place last Sunday. He was one among the first settlers of Marshalltown; having settled there in 1853, on a farm, a part of which is now comprised within the city limits. In his daily life and avocation he was an exemplary man and formed a large circle of friends, who sympathise with his family in their great bereavement. His age was 64 years, and he had poor health for some time.
