DROWNED.

George McClellan Larue, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Larue was drowned in East Indian Creek last Saturday morning. He went in swimming, and got into deep water, strangled and became confused, and thus perished. He is spoken of as a good boy, of a very affectionate disposition, and strongly attached to his parents and brothers and sisters.

The funeral was held at Colo, on Sunday. Rev. Reid, of this place, preached the funeral sermon in a large audience, who had some to sympathize with the heart broken father, mother and sister. The family feel the loss very severely, Mack was the pride of the household, a manly, bright boy, and one who will be missed and whose death will be deplored by the neighborhood.

"They will miss his when the flowers come
In the garden where he played;
They will miss him more by the fireside,
when the flowers have all decayed;
They will see his books and empty chair,
And the horse housed to ride;
And they will speak with mournful speech,
Of their darling Mack that died.

But they will go their Fathers house,
To their Father's house in the skies,
Where the hope of their souls will have no blight,
And their love no broken ties;
They will roam on the banks of the River of Peace
And bathe in its blissful tide;
And one of the joys of their Heaven will be,
The reunion with darling Mack that died."
