Sharon K. McKibbin, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and after 12:30 p.m. at the church on Thursday.

Sharon K. McKibbin, 68, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, and after 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The Rev. Harlan Gillespie and Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate.

Sharon was born Nov. 6, 1941, in Ames, the daughter of Herb and Maytha Lowman Hibbs. She married Jim McKibbin on Dec. 28, 1973, in Cedar Rapids. She was a teacher for Emmerson and Longfellow Schools, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was very active in the church. She was an excellent baker, great organizer of events and enjoyed walking. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jim McKibbin, and one son, Jason J. McKibbin, of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
