THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Monday, September 27, 2010.

Seth Aaron Stanley, 27, of Ames, Iowa, and formerly of Gower, Mo., passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, following an auto accident. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a memorial service celebrating his life at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Heartland Church of Christ, 6120 NW Prairie View Road, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born March 18, 1983, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Mark and Vickie (Koontz) Stanley. Seth graduated salutatorian from East Buchanan High School in Gower, received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., and was studying for his doctorate in electrical engineering at Iowa State University in Ames. He also worked as a teaching assistant at ISU. Seth was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was also a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Ames.

Seth leaves his parents, Mark and Vickie Stanley; two brothers, Andrew Stanley, his wife, Whitney, and their son Ethan, and Sam Stanley; his paternal grandmother, Naomi Stanley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Seth’s memory with a donation to Camp Geiger, in care of Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 1704 Buckingham St., St. Joseph, Mo., 64506.
