Earl H. Teig, 85, of Longview, Washington, passed away May 14, 2010 at his home. Burial will be at the Roland, Iowa cemetery at 130 p.m. on July 31, 2010.

Earl was born Nov., 28, 1924 in Roland, Iowa to Peter and Cora (Lura) Teig.

Earl served in the army during World War II in the 5th Army and Replacement units in Africa, Italy, Germany, and France. He moved to the local area 33 years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vida Teig; a son, Tom Teig and wife Rebecca of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Julie Brunko of Deer Creek, Minnesota and Jody McCarther and husband Kevin of Vancouver, Washington; a brother, Carol Teig and wife Gladys of Apple Valley, Minnesota; two sisters, his twin Pearl West of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Nadine Huss of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Lt. Col. Edna Lura.
