Mrs. Person, 75, Life-Long Story Resident, Dead
Mrs. Belle Eliza Person, 75, a life long resident of Story county and a resident of Ames for the past 30 years, died at her home at 824 Duff avenue at 7:30 p. m., Sunday. Death was attributed to cerebral thombosis.
She was born in Cambridge Oct. 3, 1861 and attended the public schools there. On Dec 18, 1879 she was married to George M. Person and the couple moved to Palestine township. After living here for three years they moved to a farm north of Kelley, where they resided until moving to Ames about 30 years ago.
While living near Kelley Mrs. Person was one of a small group which established a United church at Kelley, and when she moved to Ames she became active in the affairs of the Congregational church. She was also an active member in the local W. C. T. U. organization.
Mr. Person died here in 1929.
Surviving her are four children, Howard A. Person of Forest Hill, Long Island, N. Y.; Chester W. Person of Ames; Mrs. Arch Crawford of Evanstone, Ill., and Mrs. Lloyd A. Dobbert of LeMars; also a brother, Frank E. Wire of Denver, Col., and a sister, Mrs. David Hammond of Savanna, Ill.
Two grand children, Harold Hollingsworth of Rollins and Albert Hollinsworth of Anapolis, spend two years here with their grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Tuesday from the Adams chapel, with the Rev. Arthur R. McLaughlin of the Congregational church in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
