Service Monday for Mr. Rasmussen
Arlen (Gus) Rasmussen, 39, 117 Washington Ave., died Friday at Mary Greeley Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. from Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Asp of Ascension Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Rasmussen was born Oct. 17, 1930 in Nevada.
He was married to the former Connie Hagen Oct. 31, 1953 at Huxley.
He has lived his entire lifetime in the Ames area, and graduated from Ames High School. He belonged to the Painter Union No. 246.
Mr. Rasmussen was in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1951 and belonged to the American Legion and had served as a past commander of that organization.
Survivors include his wife, a daugher, Linda and two sons, Fred and Arlen Jr., all at home; his parents, John and Adeline Rasmussen, Ames; two brothers, James and Joel Rasmussen, Ames; two sisters, Donzetta Rasmussen, Ames and Mrs. Karen Meyer, Story City.
Friends may call at Stevens Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening.
