Hildred B. Osvog, 99, of Story City, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Bethany Manor.

Services are pending with Fredregill Funeral Home.

Hildred B. Osvog was born Dec. 10, 1916, to Corneil and Amanda (Erickson). Hildred went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 27, 2010. She spent most of her life farming alongside her beloved husband of more than 55 years, Sigurd, whom she married Sept. 30, 1940, at Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland.

Hildred’s passion in life was studying her Bible and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. She spent countless hours reading and researching the health and wellness of the human body, which she applied to her own life.

She had a sweet spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed by friends and family, whose lives were greatly enriched by her presence.

She is survived by three sisters, Mae Lovig, of Bethany Manor in Story City, Marie Williams, of Iowa Falls, and Gerine Corbin, of Ames; one sister-in-law, Darlene Erickson, of McCallsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sigurd, in 1996; two brothers, Marvin Erickson and Selmer (Sam) Erickson; and three sisters, Evelyn Hill, Alta Lunning and Coriene Moore.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Bethany Manor, 212 Lafayette Ave., in Story City, with the funeral service immediately following at 10:30 a.m., also at Bethany Manor.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
