Donald Johnson, 91, of Story City, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Arrangements are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Donald G. Johnson, 91, of Story City, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Story City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Don was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Story City, to Lew S. and Mamie (Sheldahl) Johnson. He married Mazel Thorson Dec. 10, 1936. She died May 20, 2007.

He is survived by two sons, Gary (Marion) and Steve (Marcy), both of Story City; one daughter, Charlene Keltner, of Lake Mills; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson and Ione Lenning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Gaylord and Luane; and three sisters, Lilly Eckstrom, Alice Abelson and Irene Jones.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
