THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Robert Stanley Phillips, 90, of Huxley, died Saturday July 3, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of complications from heart and kidney disease. A celebration of his life and family visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Ballard Creek Community in Huxley. Interment with military honors will be at 4 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Fjeldberg Cemetery.

He and his beloved wife, Barbara, were married for more than 57 years and lived the majority of their lives near Cedar Rapids. He was a veteran of World War II and served on seven major invasions.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan E. Phillips, Anne L. Quick and Sandra K. Gibson; two grandsons, Brian A. Quick and Trent D. Quick; one granddaughter, Andre N. Stenhouse; and one great-grandson, Chad M. Quick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in his name.
