Succumbs to Tuberculosis

Martin Christian Passes Away After a Few Months Sickness with Dreaded Disease

Martin Christian, who has been sick at the home of his parents in the north part of town for the past few months, died yesterday morning from consumption. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from Trinity church. A full obituary will be given in next week's issue of the Record.

Martin Christian was born in Roland, November 23, 1885 and died at the same place on Wednesday, April 21, 1909, being 23 years, 4 months and 28 days when death called him. He was the second son of Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Christian and has always lived here. On December 8, 1906, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Solbrack, who died October 13, 1907, so that they lived together less than a year.

He was taken sick last fall and has gradually been getting worse until the past couple of weeks he was unconscious the greater part of the time. He suffered from consumption. Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers and three sisters to mourn his death. They are:--J. A. Christian, Mrs. Alice Solbrack, Mrs. Lizzie Christian, Lewis and Clarence Christian and Sophie Christian, all of them were at home when he died.

The funeral was held last Friday from Trinity Church. Rev. H. J. Holman officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery. The many friends of the sorrowing family extend to them their most sincere sympathy during the house of the bereavement.
