Hans H. Jondall was born in Jondall, Hardanger, Bergen's Stift, Norway, April 16, 1835, and died at the home of his son, E. P. Jondall, on June 24, 1910, being 75 years, 2 months and 8 days old at the time of his death. The cause of his death was the result of an attack of paralysis about three years ago, from which he never fully recovered, but he was able to be around and up until the day of his death. His decline has been gradual and sure, and although his death was hardly expected as soon as it came, it was not wholly unexpected.
Fifty two years ago he was married to Miss Anna Simmons to which union twelve children were born, eight of whom are still living. They are, J. H. Jondall, of Minneapolis, Minn.; S. H. Jondall, of near this place; Mrs. Malinda Duea, of this place; Mrs. Carrie Quam, of near this place; Mrs. Sena Christian, of Frost, Minn.; Oscar Jondall, of this place; Mrs. Helen Christian, of Richland township; E. P. Jondall of near this place. These who have passed to the Great Beyond are Mrs. Anna Roe, Misses Carrie and Sena Jondall and Thomas Jondall. Besides his children he leaves fifty grand children and four great grand children and numerous other relatives and friends to mourn his death.

Forty years to the day of his funeral, he came to Nevada from Norway and settled on a place one mile south of town, where he lived until 1881 when he moved unto a farm that he bought southeast of town, now owned by N. T. Wicks, where he lived until twelve years ago when he moved to town, making his home with his son, E. P. Jondall. His wife died April 10, 1894. Besides being a farmer he also was a carpenter and worked at the trade a large part of the time.

The funeral was held from Salem church last Monday afternoon Rev. J. N. Sandven officiating, after which the remains werelaid to rest in the Roland cemetery. The church was filled with friends of the family who wished to pay their last respect to the deceased, and the floral offerings were many and beautiful. Among thse from a distance who attended the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Jondall of Greatinger; Ole Jondall and daughter of Story City and Oliver Thompson, of Radcliffe.

The sorrowing ones are extended the sincere sympathy of their numerous friends in the hour of their bereavement.
