Ruth J. Clayberg, 87, passed away June 10, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services were held Monday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. There was a visitation of family and friends on Sunday, June 13 from 4-5 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Ruth J. Clayberg was born November 16, 1922 to Harry T and Bessie M. (Stoops) Davis in Ames, Iowa. She married Harold Clayberg on December 24, 1940. Ruth worked as a clerk for the Story City Municipal Electric Utility for 32 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Story City American Legion Auxiliary. She often volunteered at church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and especially spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Dan and his wife Anita Clayberg of Boone and Steve Clayberg of Story City; her daughter Judy and her husband Tom Peter of Ames; seven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her good friends Velda Frette and Delores Bates.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son Larry Dean Clayberg; and one brother Harry R. Davis.

Memorials may be designated to Grace United Methodist Church.
