Betty Alberta Hopper, 84 of Madrid, formerly of Slater, passed away June 7, 2010 at the Madrid Home. Private family services and burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Betty was born June 19, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Fred & Anna (Peterson) Rudolph. She graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. Betty married Leonard Hopper April 7, 1946. She moved from Wheat Ridge, CO to Slater Iowa in 2006.
Betty was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She loved the church sewing group, enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her son, Len (Nancy) Hopper of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Stacy & Pete Carroll, and Stephanie Hopper; daughter, Linda (Joe) Singer of Georgetown, CO; grandchildren, Jennifer & Jason Mosby; daughter, Beth (Dave) Burlage of Madrid; grandchildren, Anna Holestine, and Katie & Clayton Bass; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Roxi, Cael, Madilynn, and Jacob.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and husband (in 2004).
Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater, IA or the Alzheimer’s Assn.-Colorado Chapter, 455 Sherman St. #500, Denver, CO 80203.
