THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, June 18, 2010.

Dorothy E. Tripp, 81, of Story City, and formerly of Ames, died June 17, 2010. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Dorothy was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Ames, to Ernest Clare and Mary Catherine (Bohner) Tripp. She was a lifelong resident of Ames and a member of Collegiate Presbyterian Church. She worked at a variety of jobs at the Story County Developmental Center. She enjoyed reading, loved meeting people and always had a big smile and hello for everyone. She loved animals as well.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Lynn Tripp and Gregg Tripp, both of Dallas, and Janet Horne and George Tripp of Holland, Mich.; and by her dear friend and guardian, Marty Helland of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and Robert.
