THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 10, 2010.

Guy Greenough, 46, of Slater, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Slater, with Pastor Nancy Phoenix Reed officiating. A private family burial was held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter.

Guy was born in Sioux City on July 19, 1963, to Roger and Arlene (Jensen) Greenough. He worked as an installer for heating and air conditioning and enjoyed spending time with his family. Guy also served in the United States Army from 1983-1986, having several overseas duties in the military.

Survivors include his parents, Roger and Arlene Greenough of Slater, two sisters, Leslie Stephens of Norwalk and Linda Gardner of West Des Moines; two brothers, Rich (Michelle) of Granger and Quentin (fiancé Lori) of Grimes; seven nieces; six nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to the Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home, Slater, handled arrangements.
