THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

Mayme J. Hill, 91, of Story City, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June, 4, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior the service Friday at the chapel.

Mayme Hill was born July 31, 1918, to Knute and Bertha (Nelson) Hill in Story County (rural Roland). She graduated from Roland High School in 1936 and worked at Donnelly’s in Nevada and at Mary Greeley in Ames. She was a member at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland and was active in the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed quilting, puzzles, reading books, westerns, traveling and garage sales.

She is survived by 29 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Albert Hill, John Hill, Reuben Hill and Arthur Hill; and four sisters, Cora Molde, Maggie Johnson, Burdella Hill and Alma Ellingson.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Roland is assisting the family with arrangements.
