BOY DIED MONDAY

Wallace LeRoy Durby, 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Durby of near Nevada, died at the Iowa sanitarium in Nevada at 2 o'clock Monday morning following a series of major surgical operations. The funeral was held at the Memorial Lutheran church in Nevada yesterday afternoon, Rev. G. O. Simon officiating. The pall bearers were Junior Corbin, Howard Stillman, Duane Meyers, Everal Alley, Freddie McLain and Earl Shaffer. The body was brought to the Roland cemetery for burial.

The boy was born in Roland February 3, 1922, and was 12 years, one month and two days old. He is survived by his parents and tree sisters, Adelaide, Lorraine and Shirley. He also leaves his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Lein of Forest City, and a grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Durby of Minneapolis, Minn.

Wallas was first operated on for appendicitis December 28, 1933, and three more operations have been made since that time for obstruction of the bowels caused by infection from the ruptured appendix. All that possibly could be done was done for him, but he was unable to withstand the ravages of the infection.
