DIED AT STORY CITY
Lars Omundson, father of Lewis Omundson and Mrs. Edw. J. Sandvig of this place, died December 2 at his home in Story City.
The funeral was held the following Monday at the St. Petri church in Story City with Rev. W. B. Scarvie officiating. Pall bearers were Lewis Ingebritson, Sam Jacobson, A. G. Larson, L. C. Kahrs, B. T. Holm and Dan Johnson. Interment was made in the Mamrelund cemetery.
Lars Omundson was born July 5, 1850, in Lasalle county, Illinois, near Ottawa. He moved to Iowa in 1870, when he was 20 years of age, and settled on a farm seven miles north of Story City. In 1873 he was married to Josephine Romsdahl, and to this union nine children were born, six of whom survive him. Mrs. Omundson died in 1891.
Mr. Omundson lived on the farm north of Story City until 1894. After that he lived five years at Graettinger, following which he moved to Story City, and that was his home until his death. He had been in failing health for some time, but was seriously sick only about four days.
He is survived by his six children, 31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The children are Lewis of Roland, Mrs. Edw. J. Sandvig of Roland, Mrs. Edward Anderson of Graettinger, Joseph of Estherville, Nels and Mrs. Anna Olson of Story City.
