Respected Ladies Are Laid To Rest

Double Funeral is Held From Salem Church Last Thursday afternoon When Two Ladies Are Laid to Final Resting Place

Mrs. J. L. Seal

Mrs. Serine Johnson Seal was born January 2, 1870 and died at the home of her mother, Mrs. T. R. Johnson, on Monday morning, February 28, 1910, being 40 years, one month and 26 days old when death claimed her. She always lived here, and grew to womanhood on the Johnson farm about three miles northeast of here. About twelve years ago she was married to Jacob L. Seal, who with their four children are now mourning the loss of one who was dear to them. Mrs. Seal has been poorly for many years, and on this account, Mr. Seal sold his farm last fall and intended to make this their home, that she might get the best possible attention, and had temporarily moved into the Johnson home until the M. Erickson residence in the north part of town would be vacated, but before they were able to get moved, she passed away after only a short warning to her family that the end was so near. The cause of her death was tuberculosis. Besides her mother, husband and four children she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Weaver, of Genoa, Colo., who was unable to attend the funeral, and Mrs. Ross Johnson, of near McCallsburg and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from Salem church, Rev. J. N. Sandven officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery. The sorrowing husband, children and other relatives are extended the sincere sympathy of their many friends in the hour of their deep affliction.

[NOTE - the other lady is Mrs. Inger Fosen]
