THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, April 10, 2010.
Jimmie Rayburn Rackler, of Colo, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, at United Methodist Church of Colo, 602 Fourth St., Colo, with Pastor Lewis S. Flanigan officiating.
Jimmie was born Jan. 10, 1948, in McKinney, Texas, to Sam Rayburn and Juanita B. (Burnett) Rackler. On June 25, 2004, he married Patricia Archer in Nevada. He enjoyed playing golf, online golf, watching all sports and blowing snow. He loved his dog, Scooby.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of Colo; his parents, Sam and Juanita Rackler, of Garland, Texas; two sons, Jimmie R. (Kathy) Rackler, of Lancaster, Texas, and Cody Rackler, of Rockwall, Texas; one daughter, Amber (Jimmy) Johnson, of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, Mike Rackler, of Abilene, Texas; one sister, Trecedie (Jerry) Weeks, of Lancaster, Texas; and a half sister, Patricia Bloodworth, of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Rackler.
A memorial fund has been established in Jimmie’s name for the American Cancer Society.
Chet Ryan Mortuary has been entrusted with Jimmie and his family.
