MRS. DANIELSON DIED LAST WEEK
WAS LAST SURVIVING CHARTER MEMBER OF BERGEN LADIES AID SOCIETY
Mrs. Elizabeth Danielson died Friday morning at her home following a long illness. She had been failing for several years, due to her advanced age, and on August 2 last year suffered a stroke of paralysis which left her helpless. Her only surviving daughter, Mrs. Martin Fenn, has made her home with her the past five years and has given her care during her illness.
Elizabeth Amdall was born in Saude, Norway, March 16, 1849, her parents being Gunnar and Martha Amdall (Aasen). She died at Roland on March 10, 1933, and lacked six days of being 84 years old at the time of her death.
She was married to Knudt Danielson (Hellelod) October 23, 1870, and came to Roland in June 1874, where she has since made her home. They lived with the L. L. Bakka family west of Roland for two years and then in a house in the west part of town for a short while. They then moved into their own house which they had built. Mrs. Danielson had lived in Roland for nearly 60 years and had lived in her present home for 51 years.
Three children were born to this couple, Mrs. Bertha Cook, who died in Marshalltown in 1899; Daniel, who died in Roland February 15, 1932, and Mrs. Martha Fenn, who survives. Mr. Danielson died in October, 1916.
She also leaves five grandchildren, Mrs. Frances Barquist and Earl Fenn of Newton, Miss Lillian Fenn of Part-Au-Prince, Haiti, Roy LaVerne Danielson of Sioux City, and Mrs. Edwin Bergman of Dayton, and two great grandchildren, Richard Barquist of Newton and Robert Bergman of Dayton.
Besides these she leaves two sisters and four brothers, O. G. Amdall of Dallas, Wis., Mrs. Ragnhild Peterson and George Amdall of Estherville, Mrs. Anna Anderson of Barron, Wis., Knudt Amdall of Kerkhoven, Minn., and Lars Amdall of McCallsburg.
Mrs. Danielson was a member of Bergen church since she came to Roland in 1874, the year the old church was built. She was also the last surviving charter member of the Ladies Aid society in that church and served as its president for 21 years, from 1885 to 1887, inclusive, and from 1893 to 1911, inclusive.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the residence and at Bergen church, with Rev. M. O. Sumstad in charge. Rev. O. Amdalsrud, a neighbor and acquaintance of the deceased from Norway, assisted in the service and spoke in tribute to her. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery. The pall bearers were H. G. Hanson, John T. Johnson, Overt I. Holland, J. T. gaard, Walter Fox and T. A. Hereim.

Sandvig of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. John Thorsness and Mrs. Christ Holt of Story City, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Amdall, Mr. and Mrs. Gehard Amdall, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Sandvig and Mrs. W. H. Reid of McCallsburg.
