Dorothy Erickson, 67, of Story City, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her home in Story City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home.

Dorothy Elaine Erickson, 67, of Story City, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 22, at Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Story City. Burial will be at a later date at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the church.
Dorothy Elaine Erickson was born Jan. 8, 1943, in Alden, to Earl and Ella (Clausen) Stearns. She married Kenneth E. Erickson Jr. Nov. 24, 1963. Dorothy graduated Story City High School in 1961. She later graduated from AIB in Des Moines. Dorothy worked for Economy, Fire and Casualty in Ames, at the Child Development Department at Iowa State University, spent several years at Erickson Machine Tools in Story City, and the remainder of her years as a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, of Story City; her daughter, Kelley Frisch, of Ankeny; two sons, Kent Erickson, of La Jolla, Calif., and Kurt and his wife, Stacey Erickson, of Story City; two brothers, Elmer Stearns, of Adel, and Dr. David Stearns, of Conway, Ark.; her sister, Erlene Boots, of Wesleco, Texas; and nine grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jenae, Kayla, Kendrew, Kyler, Wyatt, Whitney and Ellie.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joyce Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be designated to the Harvest Evangelical Free Church or to Homeward Hospice.
Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
