THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

Velva Thomas-Murray, 82, of Ames, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center after a long illness. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Ave., in Ames.

She is survived by sister, Isabel Ruth, of California; daughters, Nina Murray, of California, and Corajayne Murray, of Minnesota; grandsons, Ryan Murray and Sidney Benedict; and granddaughter, Jana Christine; and great-grandson Gage Bothwell.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Lee, Ralph and Dale; sisters, Audrey and Zola; her daughter, Janis; her son, Scott; and grandsons, Aaron and Michael.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
