Charles Gregg, 70, of Clarion, and formerly of Slater, died March 19, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater.

Charles Gregg, 70, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., of cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 411 Third Ave., in Slater.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at the church.
Charles was born July 28, 1939, in Des Moines, to Clarence and Gertrude Gregg. He married Marilyn Hedlund Jan. 31, 1959, and they resided in Slater for 23 years where they raised three daughters. He ran a car dealership in Clarion for 22 years, retiring in 2004, and lived on Lake Cornelia. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching NASCAR racing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Debra, Carol (Dan) and Julie (Brian); six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Soderstum Riis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
