THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

Randy D. Simdorn, 56, of Ames, went home to be with our Lord Saturday, March 13, 2010. A celebration of life service will be on Thursday, March 18, at UCC Church, 217 Sixth St., in Ames. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. and service will begin at 7 pm. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family.

Randy DuWayne Simdorn was born May 11, 1953, to DuWayne and Gloria (Schlotfeldt) Simdorn. He graduated from high school in Lidgerwood, N.D. He was united in marriage to Debra Loraas May 27, 1978, in Hankinson, N.D. He worked at Clark Equipment from 1971 to 1981. He was employed by 3M since 1981. He belonged to the Ames Noon Kiwanis and was a member of United Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling, quilting, fixing things and spending time with family and friends.

Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; two daughters, Laura (Joe) McComish, of Plymouth, Minn., and Leslie (Darin) Gully, of Columbia, Mo; his mother, Gloria Simdorn; and one sister, Brenda Simdorn.

He was preceded in death by his father.
