THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, March 5, 2010.

Dorothy M. Jacobson, 89, of Story City, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Dorothy was born April 14, 1920, near Story City, to Magnus and Beulah (Oswald) Horness. She married Arnold H. Jacobson June 19, 1940. He died May 1, 1986.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Paul (Karen) Jacobson, of Story City; son-in-law, Dale Crosbie, of San Deigo, Calif.; two grandchildren, Brian Jacobson, of Chicago, Ill., and Scott Crosbie, of San Deigo, Calif.; and a brother, Ervin Horness, of Boulder City, Nev.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Katherine Diane Crosbie; brother, Duane Horness; and sister, Gladys Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church for music.
