SUDDEN DEATH OF LOCAL RESIDENT

ANDREW RASMUSSON SUFFERED STROKE OF APOPLEXY LAST WEEK
----Andrew Rasmusson was found dead at his home early Friday morning, a victim of apoplexy. He lived with his brother J. V. Rasmusson, at the old Rasmusson home in the east part of town and was last seen alive by his brother about 10:30 o'clock Thursday evening as they were preparing to retire for the night. The slept in separate parts of the house and his brother did not notice that he had not gone to bed until the next morning when he found the lifeless body in an outbuilding. The attending physician stated that he had been dead for several hours.
Andrew Rasmusson was born December 18, 1866, on the Rasmusson homestead 2 1/2 miles northeast of Roland. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Rasmusson, pioneer residents of the community. He died November 7, 1935, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 19 days.
He moved to Roland with his parents in 1900 and has lived here since that time. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. J. R. Grindem of this place, and five brothers, B. M. Rasmusson of Story City, Henry Rasmusson of Minnesota, and R. O., J. V., and S. T. Rasmusson of this place. Two sisters have preceded him in death, Mrs. Malinda Michaelson of Rushville, Neb. on April 28, 1927, and Mrs. Mattie Henderson of Story City on March 11, 1934.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home and at Bergen Lutheran church, Rev. M. O. Sumstad officiating assisted by Rev. O. Amsdalsrud. The music consisted of duets by Misses Alice Thompson and Ruth Peterson. The pall bearers were Jacob Erickson, T. I. Sampson, P. M. Martens, M. O. Ferkin, Christ Haverson and Paul F. Pederson. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.

R. Gaard of Radcliffe; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Gaard, Mrs. Ole K. Tvedt, Miss Belle Tvedt, Clarence, John and Otis Tvedt, of Garden City; Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Ose of McCallsburg; Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hoversten of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. James Logan of Marshalltown; Ed Fenn of Colfax, and Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Rasmusson, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Grindem, Mrs. H. E. Myrah, and Rexford Tysdale, of Story City.
