THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, January 22, 2010.

Rebecca Jane Ditmarson, 60, of Des Moines, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada.

Rebecca was born Dec. 15, 1949, at Cokato, Minn., the daughter of Curtis and Irene (Hultgren) Ditmarson. She enjoyed her pets, sporting events, playing cards, (especially “500”), and loved her kids and grandson.

Survivors include a son, Nathan (Andrea) Stone, of Clive; a daughter, Nicole (Joe) Spradling, of Chicago, Ill.; one grandson, Kevin Stone; two brothers, David (Linde) Ditmarson, of Willmar, Minn., and Daniel Ditmarson, of Des Moines; and one sister, Linda (Scott) Nelson, of New London, Minn.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Sharon.

Memorials may be given to the Friends of the Animals/Story County Animal Shelter, 975 W. Lincoln Way, Nevada, IA, 50201.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
