THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 7, 2010.

Marjorie Lee, of rural Gilbert, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Bethany Manor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Gilbert Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tom Prochnow officiating. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery south of Ames.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Gilbert Lutheran Church.

Marjorie Ann Markey was born July 11, 1929, in Boone, to John J. and Hazel (Ean) Markey. She married Merle Joseph Lee Sept. 28, 1952, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone. She was a 1947 graduate of Boone High School and a graduate of a commercial art course. After graduation, she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. for several years. She was a member of Gilbert Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed working outside, camping and traveling.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan K. and Lynn Moklestad, of Forest City; three grandsons, Erik and wife, Anna Moklestad, of Forest City, Chad Moklestad, of Hawaii, and Greg Moklestad, of Forest City; four great-grandchildren, Haley, Katelyn, Jason and Thomas Moklestad; and one brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Pat Markey, of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
