NEVADA – Clara Kirk, 86, of Nevada, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Friday, November 13, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Clara was born April 22, 1923 at Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Dora (Eiselstein) Wade. She attended and graduated from Tipton High School. Clara had been a waitress, homemaker and caretaker. She was affiliated with the Campus Baptist Church. Clara enjoyed her family, church, bingo, cards, dancing, baking, watching John Wayne movies, music (especially Lawrence Welk), traveling with her family, especially her trip to Hawaii, Iowa Hawkeyes, being outside, receiving flowers and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Verla Kirk of Oskaloosa, Iowa; five grandchildren: Kim (Brian) VanderWal, Bill (Jackie) Kirk, Doug, Jr. (Brianne) Kirk, Alexis Kirk, John Kirk; and eight great-grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Wilbur, Paul and Junior.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, at the Campus Baptist Church in Ames. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery 2:30 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clara Kirk Memorial Fund.
