Naomi Ann Collings was born Jan. 28, 1932, to Arthur E. and Naomi L. (Fawcett) Letsinger in Hammond, Ind. She passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2009, with her husband at her side.
Ann grew up in Crown Point, Ind., where she attended elementary through high school. Then went on to Purdue University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree. in biology. This is where she met and later married Dale F. Collings. While in college, she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and the PEO Sisterhood.
Ann and Dale Collings were married Aug. 14, 1953, in Crown Point, Ind., at United Methodist Church. They later moved to Nevada, where Dale started his career at State Bank and Trust Co. Ann stayed at home to raise their three sons, Randall A. Collings, Gregory L. Collings and Brian A. Collings.
While in Nevada, she was a member of the Cemetery Board and the Library Board for many years. In 1991, she and Dale moved to Sun City West, Ariz., where she resided until her death. She was an excellent bridge player, she enjoyed golf, sudoku and crossword puzzles. She was very active in her PEO Sisterhood and the Pi Beta Phi Alumni. Ann and Dale loved cruising where they enjoyed many wonderful trips to various corners of the world.
In addition to her husband, Dale, she is survived by her three sons, Randy and his wife, Carol, of Nevada, Greg and his wife, Sherri, of Corona, Calif., and Brian, of Sonora, Calif.; four grandchildren, Scott, Jenney, Chandra and Brad and one great-grandchild, Diva.
Memorial Services will be at a later date.
Remembrances may be made to Helping Hands of Sun City West, Ariz.
