Edell Caroldeen Woster, 84, of McCallsburg, IA passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, with family present, Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis, IN. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Burial will follow in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.

Edell was born December 13, 1924, in Jewell, IA to Erick and Caroline (Hoversten) Challe, Jr. She graduated from Jewell High School in 1942, Waldorf Junior College in 1944, and Drake University in 1968. She married Gordon K. Woster in Jewell March 13, 1947. She taught elementary school in McCallsburg until she retired in 1987. Edell loved teaching, singing in the choir, traveling and time with her family.

She is survived by her three children: Sharon (Ernest) Satren of Bloomington, MN, Allen (Jeanette) Woster of Fishers, IN, and Patrice (Craig) Steinman of Rapid City, SD; and four grandchildren, Michelle (Aaron) Olson, Micah (Tammy) Satren, Kristin and Laura.

Edell was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Gordon.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or the McCallsburg American Legion. Condolences may be sent to Sharon Satren, 224 Mission Circle, Bloomington, MN 55420.
