THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, October 27, 2009.

Virginia “Ginny” Claire Janssen, 62, formerly of Story City, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

Ginny was born March 2, 1947, in Ames, to Clair and Beatrice Purvis. She married Paul Janssen on Jan. 14, 1967.

She is survived by her children, Gene Janssen, of Ames, Amy (Troy) Theilen, of Roland, Paula (Greg) Conis, of Story City, and James (Jackie) Janssen, of Ames; six grandchildren, Chase, Brittany, Dalton, Daniel, Tyson and Leo; her mother, Beatrice Markley, of Ames; and siblings, JH Purvis, of Maxwell, Joan (Paul) Helland, of Slater, Phyllis (Dick) Webb, of Ames, Jeannie Bohning, of Gilbert, Jon Purvis, of Muscatine, Susan (Dave) Roe, of Ames, and Charles (Karen) Markley, of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clair Purvis; and stepfather, Cliff Markley.
