DIED.

In Nevada, Friday evening, April 12th, after a painful and lingering illness, Carrie Scott, eldest daughter of Col. John Scott, aged about 20 years.

For over a year, an illness of an inflammatory and painful nature had confined her to her bed, until worn out with suffering, emaciate in body, depressed in spirits, she yielded at last to the will of Him who is all powerful, and laid aside the temporary tenement of clay for robes of the everlasting in the great unknown relms beyond the tomb. She maintained her reason and consciousness of her condition up to a short time before her death. In health, she was unusually active and bright, and her loss will be most severely felt in the household her presence ever made cheerful, and by her friends and acquaintances. The funeral services took place from the family residence, and her remains were followed to their last resting place by an unusually large procession.
