Jennifer Ambrose, 86, of McCallsburg died Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11 at Stavanger Free Lutheran Church in Garden City, where she was a member. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

Jennifer was born on February 28, 1923 in rural McCallsburg to Jacob and Amy (Holm) Gjerde on a farm south of town. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, graduated from McCallsburg School and attended business school in Des Moines.

Survivors include: one daughter, Cindy Lou, and her husband, Andy Olson, of Orange Beach, Alabama; one stepson, Mark Ambrose of Nevada; and one sister, Birdelle Post, also of Nevada. Also surviving is a cousin, JoAnn Gentilini of Gurnee, Illinois and by close friends Rich, Nanette and Lexy Bergdahl of Kirkland, WA. Her husband, brother and parents preceded her in death.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
