THE NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 27, 2009.

James A. McCall, Sr., a native of Nevada, died July 17th in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 89. He was a widely known and respected auctioneer and appraiser for over 40 years in the Mobile area.

McCall attended Iowa State College and served in the U.S. Army before moving to Gulfport, MS. Through the years he maintained an interest in and affection for his Nevada and Iowa roots and returned often for Lincoln Highway Days. He was devoted to his family, antiques and historic memorabilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Catherine McCall, brothers Fred and Tom, wife Mildred, and daughter Edith Rudder.

Survivors include three daughters, Diana Owens of Atlanta, Jean Dunbar and Janet Dunning, both of Mobile; and two sons, James McCall, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and John McCall of Hawaii; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Private services and burial of his cremains will be in Georgia. Condolences may be extended to the family % Diana Owens, 3090 Juhan Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30087.
