Waneva Joan Hartley, 76 of Nevada died on Thursday, August 13 at her home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, where she was a member, with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial followed in the Maxwell Cemetery.

Waneva was born on July 17, 1933 in Harvard, Iowa to William Raymond and Bernadine LaVon (Hellyer) Dunshee. She was a graduate of Colo High School. On March 6, 1952, Waneva married Joseph William Hartley in Nevada. She retired in 1999 as a branch office administrator for Edward Jones. Waneva enjoyed reading and watching sports on the television.

Waneva is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Steve) Brodie of Nevada; 2 twin sons, Glenn Hartley of Woodland Hills, CA and Gene Hartley of Hollywood, CA; 3 grandchildren, Rod Brodie, Ryan (Jeanine Buckingham) Brodie, and Sara Simons-Hartley; 4 brothers, Bill (Dorothy) Dunshee of Collins, Bob (Judy) Dunshee of Lebanon, IN, Barry (Sally) Dunshee of Ankeny, and David (Beckie) Dunshee of Henry, IL; and a sister, Denise (Paul) Conrad of Colo.

Waneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Hartley in June of 1987, and a sister, Carolyn Ringgenberg.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Waneva.

Chet Ryan Mortuary was entrusted with Waneva and her family.
