Waneva Joan Hartley, 76, of Nevada, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at her home. Funeral services are pending with Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Waneva Joan Hartley, 76, of Nevada, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, where she was a member, with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth St., in Nevada.

Waneva was born July 17, 1933, in Harvard, to William Raymond and Bernadine LaVon (Hellyer) Dunshee. She was a graduate of Colo High School. On March 6, 1952, Waneva married Joseph William Hartley in Nevada. She retired in 1999 as a branch office administrator for Edward Jones. Waneva enjoyed reading and watching sports on the television.

Waneva is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Steve) Brodie, of Nevada; twin sons, Glenn Hartley, of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Gene Hartley, of Hollywood, Calif.; three grandchildren, Rod Brodie, Ryan (Jeanine Buckingham) Brodie, and Sara Simons-Hartley; four brothers, Bill (Dorothy) Dunshee, of Collins, Bob (Judy) Dunshee, of Lebanon, Ind., Barry (Sally) Dunshee, of Ankeny, and David (Beckie) Dunshee, of Henry, Ill.; and a sister, Denise (Paul) Conrad, of Colo.

Waneva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Hartley, in June 1987; and a sister, Carolyn Ringgenberg.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in memory of Waneva.
