THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

Gaylord M. Henryson, 92, of Story City, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Story City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Gay was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Story City, to Annas and Malinda (Myre) Henryson. He married Colleen Robbins March 19, 1949.

Gay is survived by his wife, Colleen, of Story City; two sons, Bruce (Jan) Henryson, of Sioux Center, and Gary (Kay) Henryson, of College Station, Texas; daughter, Beth (Russ) Schrooten, of Katy, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Braaten, of Northfield, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Gloria Sue; brother, Harold; and three sisters, Selma Dyvig, Myrtle Olson and Margaret Hart.
