Daniel Ray George, 49 of Boone, formerly of Nevada, died on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services were held Saturday, July 11 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor Brice Hughes officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Danny was born on May 18, 1960 in Nevada to William J. and Sharyl R. (Dobson) George. On February 14, 1984, he married Rebecca A. Shadle in Boone. Danny was employed with Electrolux in Webster City. He enjoyed fishing, doing puzzles, playing cards, gardening, and being with family.

Danny is survived by his wife, Rebecca of Boone; his mother, Sharyl George of Nevada; 3 sons, Daniel J. George, Michael D. Shadle George and his fiancée Brittany Aldrich, all of Boone, and Nicholas LeVern of Fairfield; a daughter, Kari Seiser of Boone; 2 grandchildren, Dakota and Montana Seiser; and a brother, Bill George of Nevada.

Danny was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" George on June 27, 2009 and his father-in-law, William J. Shadle.

A memorial fund has been established in Danny's name.
